PZ fans whitewashed the Wikipedia article

Many of the regular outrageously hateful and bigoted remarks PZ has made about religion and the religious (primarily Christianity and Christians) were removed by the atheistic, pro-evolution cabal on Wikipedia. I intend to add them here. If any of the atheistic, pro-evolution members of Conservapedia have a problem with that, please make your objections known here. Please refrain from trying to argue "quote mining," because presenting a handful of his numerous, regular rants against religion and the religious is hardly quote mining. Debate Section

I listened to Simmons/Myers debate on You Tube. Myers provided numerous examples of whale evolution that Simmons admitted he was unfamiliar with. In fact, Simmons based his entire premise of the alleged lack of whale evolution on his lack of knowledge. Listen to the debate at [1]. Myers also stated at the end of the debate that he was willing to attend and participate in another debate with any creationist[2]. In light of this information, I feel that the Debating section should be changed to reflect these facts.--NormaN 15:38, 15 September 2008 (EDT)

Having listened to the debate I have to agree with the above regarding the section on whale evolution. Listen to [3] at about 2:10 and again at 5:30 in.

You can agree or disagree with Myers or evolution but it's better for Conservapedia to be accurate, especially when it's so easy to check. --Boreas talk 17:16, 15 September 2008 (EDT)

I don't agree with everything that NormaN said, but neither was the article correct, so I've removed much of that section. Philip J. Rayment 10:34, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

I would expect mostly negative comments about PZ Myers in an article from Conservapedia; but the weight issue(?), is this serious? Do you expect people, or at least people outside your own little circle, to take you serious when you harp on and on that he is overweight? Are there no overweight Christians? Does being overweight affect his beliefs? Does it affect Christian belief? Has anyone correlated belief with body fat percentage? Is this normal for a site that believes it is the more truthful and rational site on the web?

Misspelled Myers' name

Whoever wrote this article was, apparently, too retarded to even spell the man's name correctly in all instances. Which is precisely what I'd have expected of this outfit. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Quaylefan68 (talk)

I've fixed one. Any more? Oops, you can't say just yet, because I've just blocked you for rudeness. Philip J. Rayment 09:47, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

Direct links

Direct link on Pharyngula blog to Conservapedia. This proves false the accusation that Conservapedia is not linked to on Pharyngula's website. [4] Edit needed.

If you read the article correctly, PZ did not ban himself from linking to Conservapedia. No edit needed. Jinx McHue 11:17, 26 May 2010 (EDT)
To wit, this reference from the article, where PZ states: "A while back, we had some serious problems with spamming by the Conservapædia cretins, and I had to put the word "conservapedia" into the filter file. You can't use that word or your comment will get blocked! That means you won't be able to link directly to Conservapædia." Supposedly, this infuriates us. In reality, we find it extremely humorous in how ridiculous it is. PZ is paranoid and conservaphobic. Jinx McHue 16:55, 26 May 2010 (EDT)

PZ Myers has yet to offer any scholarly works concerning the murderous atheist regimes....

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that that might be the case because Professor Myers is a biologust and not a historian. After all, he has not offered any scholarly critiques of religion, either--the blogs hardly count as scholarship, and not even Myers would suggest they do. KevinO 20:33, 18 June 2010 (EDT)

Your argument makes the line even more valid. Myers don't know what he is talking about in most fields exept squids. AlainDion 22:40, 18 June 2010 (EDT)
Does PZ Myers go out on a limb and publicly make assertions outside of biology concerning Christianity and religion in general? Is PZ Myers a public advocate of atheism and not just evolutionary "science"? If so, I think it is certainly fair to take him to task on these matters. It certainly appears there are atheists who want PZ Myers to be free to push atheism, but have none of the attendant responsibilities that comes with this matter such as actually defending atheism with reasonable arguments. By the way, if any atheist wants to provide actual evidence that atheism is true that would certainly be a first at Conservapedia and I certainly don't expect this to occur. conservative 00:41, 23 June 2010 (EDT)

YouTube Christians

I have a suspicion that some YouTube Christians are going to like the recent additions to the Conservapedia PZ Myers article. Perhaps, some videos are going to be made. :) conservative 01:04, 21 July 2010 (EDT)

Why do we care about this guy?

Some of this is very funny, but I don't know why this guy is a such a big deal. Frankly it looks silly and petty to be so obsessed with him. It really is an abundant source of humor, I agree, but it does take away from the credibility of the site. KingHanksley 15:07, 4 May 2011 (EDT)

Atheism and obesity is a weighty topic and number of articles and satires have been posted at Conservapedia some of which have featured PZ Myers. Also, although it is certainly possible that PZ Myers could become a great aficionado of nutritional science, exercise science and medical science in the future, given his penchant for publicly endorsing evolutionary quackery this regrettably might not occur. conservative 15:47, 21 May 2011 (EDT)
So once again, is there an actual study done that correlates atheism with a higher rate of obesity? There was a study done by state which correlated the highest religious states with the highest obesity (mostly in the south), though there is strong reason to believe the correlation has nothing to do with the cause. But you seem to be suggesting the opposite. So is there any data behind this assertion?

spamming

I believe that Myers was complaining of link spamming. This is when someone repeatedly posts links of their site in an attempt to raise their Google search ranking. He bans any links to Conservapedia, to render this practice futile.--CamilleT 00:30, 29 May 2011 (EDT)

I wasn't aware that in addition to being an applied biology expert, he is a Google marketing expert. :) conservative 22:15, 12 June 2011 (EDT)
It's common knowledge that the Google search engine returns results based on PageRank, which is an algorithm based on the number of links to a site, and the importance of the sites linking to it. Myers has a significant presence online, so there's little doubt he's aware of how Google functions. I would suggest you remove that portion from the article, or unprotect it that I may remove it myself. --CamilleT 22:29, 12 June 2011 (EDT)
I am sorry, your post seems to be a joke. I just clicked the words significant presence and now I get the joke. conservative 06:09, 20 June 2011 (EDT)

Typo needs fixing please

The fourth word in the section "PZ and Militant Atheism" should be "a" not "an". I know it's a minor edit, but the page is locked, so i figured I'd point it out so someone with the editing rights can fix it. Thanks! --Davidkon 01:49, 10 June 2011 (EDT)

Thanks. conservative 22:13, 12 June 2011 (EDT)

Myers has poor record of scientific publishing compared to Francis Collins whom he disparages

Vox Day post:

"Coyne has accused Collins of being an “embarrassment to the NIH, to scientists, and, indeed, to all rational people” and an “advocate of profoundly anti-scientific beliefs.” Myers calls him a “creationist dupe arguing against scientific theories” and “an amiable lightweight” who doesn’t know how to think like a scientist.

Recall that Collins has published 384 scientific papers from 1971 to 2007. I’m sure he has published since 2007, as that is where the CV on the web ends. In fact, by searching through PubMed, a database that contains millions of scientific articles, it looks like he has published 483 papers. But we’ll stick with 384 since there could be other “Collins FS” authors out there mixed in with the PubMed search results.

Again using PubMed, I was able to determine that Jerry Coyne has published a very respectable 88 papers from 1971 to 2011. For Myers, I found only ten papers from 1984-1999. For Harris, I did not bother with PubMed. I used his own site where he promotes himself and his publications.

He has published two papers since 2009."[5]

Vox Day:

"In other words, it's obviously not Christianity that hinders science. Collins has not only produced considerably more science than his critics, he has published more than twice as many papers as Richard Dawkins, Jerry Coyne, PZ Myers, and Sam Harris combined. He has published infinitely more scientific papers than the late Christopher Hitchens, Daniel Dennett, and Michael Shermer, all of whom have nevertheless made similarly false claims about the incompatibility of Christianity and science.

As is so often the case, the atheist argument is based entirely on incorrect logic and not on the empirical evidence that they claim - also falsely - to value so highly." [6]

Disagree, this seems odd, and off topic. Who is Vox Day? - User: Brenden
First, you are going to have to clarify and support your remarks if you want me to consider them. Your use of the word "seems" certainly gives the appearance of you not being to support your contentions. For example, are there any inaccuracies or is the information correct? Also, if the information is accurate, then why do you want to suppress the accurate information? Why is the material irrelevant to PZ Myers and his criticism of Francis Collins? In addition, see: Vox Day. Lastly, are you an atheist? If so, do you have any proof and evidence that atheism is true? The reason I ask is that there is plenty of evidence supporting the validity of Christianity. Conservative 14:23, 19 April 2012 (EDT)
