is there seriously no discussion on this? previous unsigned comment added by User:Casenj 15:11, 2 July 2007 (EDT)

The large portion I removed is identical to the first section on the Wikipedia page on the date this page was created. Browsing the Wikipedia edit history shows that the information was the work of various editors, none of whom appear to be Stevendavy. Jinkas 12:44, 18 July 2007 (EDT)

I thought Wikipedia had a crazy liberal bias? FlightlessOstrich 15:40, 15 March 2008 (EDT)

Why on earth would you describe the Qu'ran in the terms presented by the Catholic Encylopedia??? That's just shameful. FlightlessOstrich 15:26, 15 March 2008 (EDT)

Where it says, “Although Muslim apologists claim that Islam respects Christians and Jews (doctrinally and personally), both Mohammed's personal actions (as recorded in the Hadith) and verses from the Koran demonstrate otherwise,” show me some proof of Mohammad’s personal actions! And as for the verses from the Koran, I saw them on the Qur’an page. Personally, I think someone should remove the sentence quoted above and the “Verses of Violence” section of the Qur’an page. And don’t tell me that the Bible doesn’t have “Verses of Violence”! I’m sure out of the whole entire Bible there are at least a few verses that seem violent.--私は 23:01, 19 May 2008 (EDT)

Since no one is responding, I guess I’ll just have to do this myself. And to be fair, if someone really wants to keep the “Verses of Violence” section for the Koran, someone’s going to have to make a “Verses of Violence” section for the Bible and all the other religious books as well. Or better yet, let’s treat all religions with dignity and respect and keep the changes that I’ve made for this page. --私は上帝不見保守百科之惡乎? 00:53, 21 May 2008 (EDT)

Innacuracy

The reference for the Verses of Violence section is mostly wrong, referencing non-existent parts of the qur'an. i suggest, if we HAVE to have that part, we should at least have the correct parts. --Ayanleman 00:56, 16 October 2009 (EDT)

The "Oh ye who believe..." (Qur'an 5:52) quote is misleading here because it is out of context. I have removed it.

Birmingham Koran

From this source, I don't think the "Birmingham Koran" can be used a basis to doubt the Koran's authenticity. Radiocarbon dating is no where near accurate enough to support a claim that this manuscript pre-dates Mohammed's revelation. If we accept the dating as accurate to the exact year (a claim the researchers do not make), the parchment would be a few years older than the traditionally accepted date of the first revelation. The dating is for the death of the animal that provided the hide for parchment. The writing could have been added some time later. PeterKa (talk) 22:56, 4 September 2015 (EDT)

Practical problems

When Ramadan falls in summer muslims who live north of the polar circle have a problem: during midnight sun they may not eat as long as the sun goes down. In some very northern areas like northern Norway they may not eat for many days (about a month or more in some towns). Off course the Arab Mohamed didn't know the phenomenon of midnight sun! Big fail Mo! --Gentenaar (talk) 07:18, 24 March 2017 (EDT)
