'It was also speculated that this interaction was spurred by West's noted White Hatred' This statement needs a reputable source (I would be extremely surprised if one exists though) or it would probably be better off removed.Cmurphynz 08:24, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Do you deny the fact that West was of the New Black Panther Party, and that West has made some horrifyingly controversial comments? --James Wilson 08:48, 3 September 2012 (EDT)
I don't really know about the Black Panther thing, and I don't deny that he has said some stupid things (and basically been a bit of an idiot) what I was saying was that the article states that there was 'speculation' without providing any of that speculation. For all we know, the person who put that into the article may have been the only one to make that connection. (I moved this into a proper section, as I didn't know how when I started the page)Cmurphynz 08:58, 3 September 2012 (EDT)
It's been said. You can look it up and add references if you so desire. Are you a Kanye fan by chance? --James Wilson 09:06, 3 September 2012 (EDT)
Definitely not :) nah, i just saw that sentence which, regardless of what I think of the guy's music or behaviour, just seemed a bit unnecessary and out of place. But if you say that was a common opinion I'll look up some sources some time.Cmurphynz 09:21, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Conservative shift

I'm not going to add this info (due to lack of time, other priorities), but it might be good to note West's good relationship with Trump and his increasingly conservative positions: [1][2][3],[4] --1990'sguy (talk) 15:52, 11 October 2018 (EDT)

Prosperity Gospel

Just a word of caution, but Kanye's new faith may be more oriented toward to prosperity gospel rather than theologically conservative Christianity: 1,2 --1990'sguy (talk) 23:01, 12 November 2019 (EST)

I don't see where there's a problem encouraging young people to work and start a business. RobSDe Plorabus Unum 00:03, 13 November 2019 (EST)
That's not the prosperity gospel. --1990'sguy (talk) 08:04, 13 November 2019 (EST)
Neither is telling black youth in a black church to get off the Democratic plantation, stopping taking handouts, get a job, work, and start a business. And being an example to them. Preaching the end of victimhood isn't the prosperity gospel, either.
West has many critics among both blacks and whites. We should be skeptical of them using this line of attack to keep blacks on the plantation. RobSDe Plorabus Unum 11:58, 13 November 2019 (EST)
We're clearly talking about two different things. You're talking about his political/cultural views, I'm talking about his theological views. --1990'sguy (talk) 17:55, 13 November 2019 (EST)
I'd suggest listening to him, not his critics, and judge for yourself. RobSDe Plorabus Unum 19:07, 13 November 2019 (EST)
If West says for example, "Jesus didn't mean for you to be a slave," and then encourages people to excel on their own, while some might say that's a mixture of politics (leave the Democrat plantation) and a prosperity Gospel, then one has to defend the position that remaining on the Democrat plantation is God's will.
