Isn't Arabic read right-to-left? Perhaps the article should mention that? I'd do it now but I'm not sure. Crackertalk

How is the fact that Arabic is read from right to left relevant to the article on Allah? It should be included in an article on Arabic.

extending the article

I will extend the article to bring more comprehensive understandin i will also remove the information that said Allah was the word for the moon god due to the absence of a citation and the apsence of proof

  • I have added information and citations to the article concerning linguistic information and the question of whether Allah was a title of Hubal, the Moon god.

Allah

"Allah" has a specific meaning in Islam.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 17:56, 18 August 2015 (EDT)

Allah just means God in Arabic. I believe it will confuse the users to imply it's only Islamic as it does in the opening, and then say non-Muslims use it as well -Scatach (talk) 18:04, 18 August 2015 (EDT)

"Allah" with a capital "A" means the God of Islam. The word is derived from a generic word for "god", of course, but "Allah" has a specific meaning.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 18:30, 18 August 2015 (EDT)
I assumed it is like how English speakers who are Christians say "God" instead of "god". Granted I do not know much about Islam, but I can't say I've heard capitalization is exlcusive to them.-Scatach (talk) 18:46, 18 August 2015 (EDT)
The attributes of "God" in Christianity are different from the attributes of "Allah" in Islam. The two concepts have significant differences.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 18:54, 18 August 2015 (EDT)
