Soufflé

A soufflé is a light baked dish made fluffy with stiffly beaten egg whites, usually combined with egg yolks and various other ingredients such as custard, sauce, fish, cheese, when made as a main dish, or combined with certain fruits and/or ingredients such as chocolate or vanilla when made as a dessert. To soufflé a food dish means to make it "puffed up", light, deriving from the French word souffler.
