Sir John Frederick William Herschel (March 7, 1792 - May 11, 1871) was an English astronomer, chemist, and mathematician. He was the son of astronomer Sir William Herschel. The younger Herschel is responsible for the naming of the seven moons of Saturn, as well as the four moons of Uranus.
