In the Christian calendar, Septuagesima is the third Sunday before the start of Lent. The name derives from the Latin for 'seventieth', although Septuagesima is not in fact the seventieth day before Easter: rather there are forty days in Lent, seven in Holy Week, and sixteen between Septuagesima and Ash Wednesday, giving a total of 63 days.
