The '''Sea Peoples''' were a coalition of different seafaring peoples who raided [[Egypt]] during the [[20th dynasty]] under the rule of [[Ramses III]].  They also raided the [[Hittites]], and others.  

One of the groups of peoples in the coalition was the [[Philistines]].  After failing to conquer the [[Nile Delta]], they invaded and conquered parts of [[Palestine]].  They later menaced the [[Israel]]ites, in particular King [[Saul]] and King [[David]].
