Scientific ignorance

Scientific ignorance is lack of knowledge about the findings of science, especially modern science. It is unrelated to whether a person believes in these findings.

For example, a Young Earth Creationist may get an A in high school biology and yet reject evolution on Biblical grounds. This does not mean that the student is ignorant, but that he places a higher value on the Bible than on physical science and/or materialism.
