RT (formerly Russia Today) is a Moscow-based television channel and a global news network subsidized by the government of the Russian Federation. It has been critical of the wars of aggression waged by Barack Hussein Obama in the Libyan War and Syrian Civil War while praising the defensive interventions of the Russian Federation. RT is the first news channel to break the 1 billion YouTube views benchmark[1] after which it was promptly censored by the neo-fascist Google corporation, YouTube's parent company. It has been described as "doing propaganda with the truth."

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, RT's structure and financing as a state-sponsored broadcasting agency was modeled on the BBC and PBS. It's editorial viewpoint is multipolar.

On January 4, 2017 the U.S. Office of National Intelligence issued a report written by Trump-Russia hoaxers John Brennan of the CIA, and Peter Strzok of the FBI, entitled Joint Analysis Report: Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent US Elections,[2] or JAR for short. The JAR assessment contained a bunch of outdated, de-classified criticism of RT, along with two pages of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Hillary Clinton campaign's bogus Steele dossier. The publication and distribution to federal agencies, the Congress, and mainstream media, attempting to link President-elect Donald Trump to Russia, was the start of the U.S. intelligence community's efforts to cover-up the Obama administration's criminal activity in the 2016 election - illegal spying on the Trump campaign and election interference in the 2016 United States Presidential election. The Obama ODNI attempted to blame RT for the CIA, FBI, DNC, and Clinton's campaign's lawbreaking.

History

Russia Today was launched in December 2005 claiming to question the Mainstream Media. It currently broadcasts on Rumble throughout the world. As they are partly funded by Moscow but not state run, RT is not the voice of Russia or Vladimir Putin. It even published an article titled, "Monsters like Hitler & Ted Bundy are terrible, but it was people like them who protected the human race millions of years ago",[3] which may be in violation of Russian law against Nazi rehabilitation.[4] RT supported the anti-globalist Occupy Wall Street-movement[5] and published articles on George Zimmerman from a very biased point of view.[6] It is available in English, Russian, Spanish, Arabic and German.

RT gave air time to the 9/11 Truther movement[7] and interviewed alleged conspiracy theorists such as Jesse Ventura.[8]

RT was criticized for spreading fake news against Israel which go even further than Arab TV.[9]

RT as a victim of globalist censorship

RT was a prime target for neocon globalist Russia sanctions.

According to the leading web marketing website SEMRush.com, since September 2021 the Russia Today website has lost a considerable portion of its monthly leftwing globalist Google referral traffic.
