Rodney Adam Coronado is the founder of Animal Liberation Front and is involved with several animal rights groups. In 1995, he was convicted for an arson attack on the research laboratory at Michigan State University that occurred in 1992.[1] He was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison for the crime.

Rod Coronado's start in animal rights activism was as a crewmember on the Sea Shepherd in 1985 at the age of 19. He was part of one of the Sea Shepherd's most infamous actions, sinking two Icelandic ships to protest whaling in 1986.[2]
