Richard T. Ely

Richard Theodore Ely (April 13, 1854 – October 4, 1943)[1] was a progressive economist, author, Christian socialist,[2] founder of the American Economic Association,[3] and leader in the Social Gospel movement.[4]

Together with William D. P. Bliss, Ely is recognized by the Episcopal Church with a day on the liturgical calendar, October 8.[5][6][7]
