Richard Frothingham Jr.

Richard Frothingham Jr. (January 31, 1812 – January 29, 1880) was a historian and journalist who served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, and later as Mayor of Charlestown from 1851 to 1853.[1] He was editor of the Boston Post,[2] and was a treasurer for the Massachusetts Historical Society.[3]
His best-known work is The Rise of the Republic of the United States, which highlights the "Christian idea of man" and the Christian roots of Early America and the Founding.
