René Barrientos Ortuño (1919 - 1969) was the president of Bolivia from November 1964 to January 1966 and again from August 1966 to April 1969. He came in power by set down former president Víctor Paz Estenssoro. In 1966 he was democratically elected as president.
Barrientos became famous for helping to execute Communist terrorist Che Guevara.
