Pigeon Forge is a city in east Tennessee.
It is named for its location along the Little Pigeon River.
Located adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, it (along with neighboring Sevierville and Gatlinburg) is dependent on tourism as its major economic activity. Similar to Branson, Missouri, Pigeon Forge hosts numerous dinner theaters (and like Branson has chosen to focus on clean, wholesome entertainment).
It's main attraction is Dollywood, named for (and partially owned) by east Tennessee native Dolly Parton. The Old Mill, located in the center of Pigeon Forge, dates back to the city's earliest days and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
