Orson Welles (May 6, 1915 – October 10, 1985) was a prolific American 20th century movie director, writer and actor. He was best known for his film Citizen Kane, which was a highly innovative work that influenced all movies made afterward and his dramatization on the radio of H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds, which was so persuasively performed that it caused panic among people who thought a Martian invasion was really happening. His final role was in 1986's Transformers: The Movie, where he voiced Unicron. Due to his poor health, sound effects were used to enhance his voice.
