Orson Welles (May 6, 1915 – October 10, 1985) was a prolific American 20th century movie director, writer and actor. He was best known for his film Citizen Kane, which was a highly innovative work that influenced all movies made afterward and his dramatization on the radio of H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds, which was so persuasively performed that it caused panic among people who thought a Martian invasion was really happening.
