Not to be confused with National Catholic Reporter (NCR), a left-wing "Catholic" publication which promotes women's ordination and LGBTQAI rights.[1]

The National Catholic Register is the oldest national Roman Catholic newspaper in the United States.

The National Catholic Register began in 1927 and its print edition is a bi-weekly publication. The newspaper follows Catholic teachings on such subjects such as abortion, homosexual "marriage", embryonic stem-cell research, cloning, and in-vitro fertilization. It also covers issues such as poverty and the death penalty.

The newspaper was acquired in January 2011 by EWTN NEWS, Inc., part of the Eternal Word Television Network.[2]
