Michael Rubens Bloomberg (born 14 February, 1942) is a businessman, philanthropist, and current Mayor of New York City. Even though he was a life-long registered Democrat, Michael Bloomberg ran for mayor as a Republican in 2001, and was reelected to a second term in 2005. Michael Bloomberg is also one of the richest people in the world according to Forbes magazine, with an estimated net worth of $5.3 billion.
