Mendelevium is a radioactive element with the atomic number of 101 that was discovered by Stanley Thompson, Albert Ghiorso, Bernard Harvey, Gregory Choppin and Glenn Seaborg at the University of California, Berkeley in 1955. It has not been produced outside of a laboratory setting, and thus has no practical uses.[1]
