Loretta Lynch (born 1959) served as the 83rd Attorney General of the United States. She was nominated to succeed Eric Holder in the position by President Barack Obama on November 8, 2014. On April 23, 2015, she was confirmed by a 56–43 vote in the United States Senate.[1] She was sworn in on April 27, 2015.[2]

In April 2018 a criminal referral was made for Lynch who threatened an FBI informant that tried to come forward with information on the Uranium One bribery scandal during the 2016 presidential election.

Career

Lynch served as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York (EDNY) from 1999 to 2001 and again from 2010 until becoming Attorney General.

Lynch/Clinton tarmac meeting

Bill Clinton/Loretta Lynch tarmac collusion, June 27, 2016. Phoenix airport. Lynch's long-awaited announcement on the disposition of the Hillary Clinton email investigation never occurred when she compromised herself in a secret meeting with the husband of the accused. Disgraced FBI Dir. Comey surprisingly announced days later he decided against recommending prosecution, usurping the authority of the Attorney General. The Justice Dept. immediately tried to cover up the meeting and denied it had any paper trail of its existence. While the substance of the meeting was never disclosed, Christopher Steele filed his first report days earlier, and Lynch's Justice Dept. days later was seeking FISA warrants against members of the 2016 Trump campaign.

On June 27, 2016 Bill Clinton met with Attn. Gen. Loretta Lynch in a face-to-face meeting on board her plane at an airport hanger in Phoenix, an environment eliminating a paper trail and to avoid NSA electronic metadata collection. It is said Lynch authorized the Justice Dept. to proceed with a FISA warrant application after this meeting.[3]

On June 29 the Obama Justice Dept. and FBI began efforts to kill the story about the Bill Clinton/Loretta Lynch tarmac meeting and Lynch's conflict of interest with regard to a decision on prosecuting Hillary Clinton for gross negligence and mishandling classified information.[4][5][6] The Obama Justice Dept. then sought a FISA warrant to eavesdrop on Michael T. Flynn, Paul Manafort, Carter Page and George Papadopoulos (earlier reports listed Donald Trump, Carter Page, Paul Manafort and Boris Epshteyn).[7] The FISA court initially denied the request. It is improbable that Attn. Gen. Lynch acted on her own against a presidential nominee of another party without consulting President Obama.[8]
