Office of Strategic Services

Linn Markley Farish (1901 - September 9, 1944) was an American citizen and a member of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during the World War II. The OSS is the predecedsor agency of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Farish functioned as liaison officer with Josip Tito's Yugoslav Partisans for the OSS. Farish also at the same time was serving Soviet intelligence. Farish died in an aircraft crash in the Balkans in September 1944. Farish's code name in Soviet intelligence, and as decyphered in the Venona project is "Attila".
