Leonard Lance was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. He was elected from New Jersey in 2008, taking over the seat from former Rep. Mike Ferguson (also a member of the Republican party). Commentators such as Glenn Beck have questioned whether he is a progressive republican.[1] Lance calls himself a "moderate Republican," acknowledging himself to be pro-choice and an environmentalist.[2]

Lance was defeated by former Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Tom Malinowski (D) in the November 2018 election.
