Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a musical written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice based on the story of Joseph and his brothers in Genesis. The play follows the Biblical story but collapses the other brothers' journey into Egypt into one trip. The play also downplays the religious themes in the original story; God is not mentioned at all and the subsequent enslavement of the Israelites in Egypt is ignored.
