John Shimkus

John Mondy Shimkus is an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for Illinois's 15th congressional district from 1997 to 2021.

Shimkus is a member of the Republican Party. On August 30, 2019, he announced that he would not seek re-election for his seat in 2020 and was succeeded by America First Patriot Mary Miller.

Political Positions

Shimkus withdrew support for President Donald Trump after Trump withdrew from Syria. [1]

Shimkus also voted for farm amnesty.[2]
