Jim Traficant was a Democrat from Ohio's 17th district from 1985 to 2002.

Traficant was known to break from his party on multiple issues, such as abortion and spending. He was remembered for giving humorous speeches on the House floor, and was a conservative Democrat. However, his popularity faded after he was expelled on corruption charges on 2002, and he died from a tractor accident in 2014.
