James Otis Jr. was an activist and early patriot leader who served as a member of the Massachusetts assembly. His ideas were influential and led to the American Revolution. He co-authored the Massachusetts Circular Letter with Samuel Adams, and published the influential pamphlet The Rights of the British Colonies Asserted and Proved in 1764.[1]
