Issachar was one of the twelve tribes of Israel, made up of the descendants of Jacob's son Issachar. According to Joshua 19, the border of the tribe of Issachar

And their border was Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem; and Hapharaim, and Shion, and Anaharath; and Rabbith, and Kishion, and Ebez; and Remeth, and En-gannim, and En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez; and the border reached to Tabor, and Shahazim, and Beth-shemesh; and the goings out of their border were at the Jordan; sixteen cities with their villages.[1]

The Tribe of Issachar was one of the northern tribes that sided with Jeroboam I in his rebellion against Rehoboam, and, along with the rest of the Northern Kingdom, was conquered and destroyed by the Assyrians.
