Idiot savant

An idiot savant (more properly called autistic savant) is an extreme form of autism in which the person with the disorder cannot brush their teeth or take their own bath[Citation Needed] or do any other basic activities but is a genius in one narrow field, usually mathematics. Savants usually can calculate complicated mathematical problems with lightning speed and razor sharp accuracy and also usually have extremely good memories. There are only approximately 50 idiot savants in the world at a time. Examples include Kim Peek, the inspiration for the savant in the movie Rain Man and Daniel Tammet, a British savant who is gifted in both mathematics and linguistics and memorized the first 22,514 digits of Pi.
