Holy Innocents

The Holy Innocents were the children massacred by the paganist King Herod shortly after the birth of Jesus, in an unsuccessful attempt to kill Him. It is described in Matthew 2:16-18.
Historical estimates range from dozens of innocent victims of this slaughter, to thousands.
