Henry Stanley

Sir Henry Morton Stanley was born on January 28, 1841 in Denbigh, Denbighshire, Wales. He was a British-American journalist and explorer.

He is famous for his exploration of Africa and his search for David Livingstone (who he ultimately found), having been sent to look for him by the New York Herald.[1] Stanley's efforts helped the Belgian King Leopold II establish the Congo free state in Africa.[2]

He died on May 10, 1904 in London, England.
