Greenwald was named by Foreign Policy magazine as being one of the Top 100 Global Thinkers of 2013.[1]

He also was involved in reporting on Edward Snowden, and attended the IOW as a guest speaker, the latter of which heavily implied that he held Marxist-Leninist sympathies.[2] He was also a homosexual, and despite being of American birth, lives in Brazil. He also frequently wrote hit pieces on America.[3]
