GA-37

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Aschlafly (Talk | contribs) at 02:34, August 4, 2021. It may differ significantly from current revision.

GA-37 is an Executive Order by Texas Governor Greg Abbott "relating to the transportation of migrants during the COVID-19 disaster.'

It was temporarily enjoined, pending a hearing on a motion by the Biden Administration for a preliminary injunction, in United States v. Texas (Aug. 3, 2021). The district judge held:

The United States is likely to prevail on its claims that Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s “executive order No. GA-37 relating to the transportation of migrants during the COVID-19 disaster,”

issued on July 28, 2021 (“Executive Order”), violates the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution because (1) it conflicts with, and poses an obstacle to, federal immigration law; and (2) it directly regulates the federal government’s operations."
