Frederick Law Olmsted (April 25, 1822 – August 28, 1903) was a landscape architect and designer. Among his many achievements were the design of Central Park in New York City (with his colleague Calvert Vaux, Parc Mont-Royal in Montréal, and the pioneering garden suburb of Riverside, near Chicago.
