the Farm Security Administration or FSA was a small New Deal agency for poor farmers, 1935-43. It is most famous for sponsoring first class photography, and for funding and promoting rural cooperatives.
Many of the photographs are online at the Library of Congress. They are not copyright and can be freely reproduced. Among the famous photographers were Stu Cohen, Peter Bacon Hales, and Ben Shahn; Walker Evans; Dorothea Lange; Sheldon Dick; Marion Post Wolcott; and Russell Lee.
