Adoration of the Magi by Moroder Lusenberg
Epiphany (from the Greek word to show) is a Christian festival which is celebrated on January 6. It commemorates the visitation of the Magi to the infant Jesus and thus the manifestation or showing of Christ to the gentiles.

The term has also come to mean a divine manifestation or a sudden insight into the essence of something, often triggered by something quite mundane.
