There are 138 pyramids in Egypt. The earliest known Egyptian pyramids are located in Saqqara, northwest of Memphis and are thought to be constructed around 2600 BC.

The most famous Egyptian pyramids are those found at Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo. A number of the Giza pyramids are counted among the largest structures ever built. It is thought it took around 100,000 workers to build the structures.
