Edmund Muskie

Edmund Sixtus Muskie (March 28, 1914 – March 26, 1996) was a Democrat from Maine who served as the state's U.S. senator from the late 1959 to 1980 and was the Secretary of State under President Jimmy Carter. He previously was the governor of Maine, and a state representative prior to that.

Muskie was Hubert Humphrey's running mate in the 1968 presidential election.
