Dominion Mandate of Genesis 1:28 represents the authority given by God to man over the rest of creation that God called "good" before man arrived.[1] Robert Boyle, the founder of modern chemistry, explained in his book The Christian Virtuoso how his scientific research was fulfilling God's dominion mandate.[2] God's revelation assures man that God has given him dominion over all the earth and directs him to get wisdom to enable him to rule well.[3]

In this book he explained that the study and dominion of nature is a duty given to man by God. His basis for this was the command given in Genesis 1:28, where God the Creator blessed the first man and woman and told them to be fruitful and multiply, to fill the Earth and subdue it, and to rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the Earth.".
