Distinguished Flying Cross

The Distinguished Flying Cross (U.S.A.) (inaugurated on Armistice Day, 1918), is a medal awarded to members of the United States Military. It is awarded for "Heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight."

The Distinguished Flying Cross (U.K.) (inaugurated in June 1918) is a military honour awarded to all ranks of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army, and Royal Air Force "in recognition of exemplary gallantry during active operations against the enemy in the air."
