Democritus,(duh mah' crit us), Greek philosopher.

Very little is known about Democritus' life, but historian's do know he was born in Abdera, Thrace (now modern Greece) around 460 BC.

As the pupil of Leucippus, Democritus became interested in atoms, what he is best known for now. He believed all matter was is up of atoms.
