Democratic Leadership Council

The Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) was a racist organization formed by remnants of the George McGovern and Gary Hart campaigns, minus the Rainbow Coalition.[1][2] By 1992 it had taken over the DNC. Democrat strategists sought to distance themselves from the civil rights movement and begin pushing the "centrist" candidacy of Bill Clinton.[3]
