Debate:Has Conservapedia failed to live up to it purports itself to be?

It states here:

Conservapedia is a meritocracy.

Is CP really a meritocracy anymore? If so, why has the "leader" of this project disregarded repeated requests to promote some good editors while handing out extra tags to certain assistant sysops who have done little in the past few months, such as with this? Why is it that much of the site "leadership" has turned a blind eye to subversive trolls while at times unfairly targeting good editors? —LTMay D.C., his mother, and I.S. be all well! Last year when I was unfairly blocked blocked by Shobson20, Andy either didn't notice or didn't care, conveniently enough. Oh, but when RobSmith blocked Pokeria1 for a day, Andy decides to unblock. —LTMay D.C., his mother, and I.S. be all well! Friday, 18:46, June 18, 2021 (EDT)

Not really. When I posted my first article, I was accused of being a sockpuppet for the article's topic (a well-known Christian author). I was then banned for not responding to the leadership (though I did NOTHING which violated Conservapedia rules) after fixing several articles which actually made them better (on, of all things, accounting and business topics; I mean how controversial is Chapter 13 bankruptcy as a topic), and then again when someone in my complex opened an account, but was then accused of being me under a false name (we have common wi-fi access). Plus the leader insists that his COMMENTARY on how bad the Super Bowl is should be placed AHEAD of FACTUAL information about the subject (I didn't delete anything he wrote, only put it in a separate section so readers would know about potential issues). The ONLY good thing about this site is it allows people to make articles on Christian topics which Wikipedia would delete for "lack of notability". Quidam65 (talk) 10:40, June 19, 2021 (EDT)

Quidam65, it's not just Christian or political stuff. This wiki also allows subjects on "non-notable" content, provided it's family-friendly and encyclopedic (Aschlafly told me on his talk page when I asked about increasing the scope of video game articles here). For example, Bulbasaur article has in-game statistics that would not be allowed on Wikipedia. Mario Kart DS has more in-depth list that would not be allowed on Wikipedia. Much could be said here, however for lack of time I'll simply remark that noticeable improvements have occurred regarding more open discussion and collaboration between editors, although there still is a long way to go. More experienced editors should conduct themselves as models toward newcomers and less experienced editors, and help them improve rather than behaving in a paranoid fashion or always being confrontational. Hopefully, we are moving past arbitrary blocking, such as blocking an editor whose only edit is to declare themselves "liberal" on their Userpage, which itself is a violation of CP Guidelines and abuse of sysop powers which had been rampant on CP for years. A certain naiveté entered CP early on, where users who openly declared themselves "liberal' were blocked. So they re-appeared as socks and put a "This user is conservative" userbox on their Userpage as a badge for protection, and fooled CP Admin. Many still exist.
This resulted in the dog-chasing-its-tail, where CP Admin complained about the socks they blocked reappearing in a shell game of their own making. A simple dose of tolerance, with proper enforcement of the existing rules against profanity, trolling, etc., could have saved us years of nonsense. And built a community at the same time. Sysops don't need to invent rules out of their imagination to get rid of problem users, but that unwritten policy existed, and dominated, for many years.
Standard procedures exist on most all social media sites and educational wikis that Admins and Mods are expected to follow. Not all of them are written down in black and white, but here is where neutral and fair Admin lead by example. Hopefully again, CP is moving in this direction. Now, I will be accused by some saying, "Rob, you want to tolerate trolls," or "Rob, you must be one of them." I say, "Bullcrap. You don't have faith or confidence in your conservative beliefs and convictions to win an argument or debate with a communist or liberal."

I will agree that for many years, communists and liberals have been registering to try and subvert the wiki or add in unprofessional and false content. Not a good thing. I still have faith with Conservapedia. Rob & Andy have been nothing but helpful to me thus far. Patriotic Gamer (talk) 17:14, June 19, 2021 (EDT)
