Daniel Brandt is best known for operating the now-offline website "Wikipedia Watch". His site revealed the identities of many Wikipedians.[1]
Wikipedia biography deletion wheel-war and arbitration case
Brandt's article on Wikipedia was repeatedly deleted and restored, which eventually led to an arbitration case before the Arbitration Committee;[2] the "highest tier" of the administrator-run site.[3] The Arbitration Committee claims that their role on Wikipedia is to "impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve."[4] this practice on Wikipedia is known as "wheel-warring", and is "looked down" upon by the Wikipedia community.[5]
Thrice in October 2005, Brandt's article was deleted for notability reasons;[6] this was not part of the conflict.[2]
