Cordell Hull

Cordell Hull (1871-1955), a native of Tennessee, served as US Secretary of State from 1933 to 1944 - longer than any other occupant of that office. In 1945 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in bringing about the establishment of the United Nations.
