On "ideological blocking"

We had a saying in the Army about inclusiveness: "Better to have them inside the tent p****** out than outside the tent p****** in." I think that CP has conclusively proved this to be true. Following the (unilateral?) decision to kick out and block the accounts of all those who held a different opinion, they have caused more disruption, pain and heartache to this site as "outlaws" than ever would have been the case had they been allowed to argue on talk pages. The eventual content of the articles would still have followed a conservative pov, and would more than likely have been far better than a lot of what we now have instead. Dissent is a funny thing. Democracies allow it. Whoever carried out the infamous Night of The Long Knives should hang their heads in shame, because the mass ideological banning that took place has caused more harm to this project than allowing arguments on talk pages ever would have. 10px שועל (talk|contribs) 19:08, 25 November 2008 (EST)
