The Cominform was a Leftist Marxist institution made up of political parties to organize the post war activities of the radical left in 1947. While the Cominform made plans for an "American Attack", no American political parties ever joined the group. Its activities mostly consisted of solving problems that arose following World War II, such as the fate of Yugoslavia and the dividing of eastern Europe between the victorious Soviet countries.
A stated goal of the Cominform was the destruction of Catholicism, as the Cominform saw the Catholic Church as standing in the way of the plans for the world domination of Communism.[1]
The Cominform was dissolved in 1956.
