College of Cardinals

The College of Cardinals was established in A.D. 1059. It is the body of all the Cardinals in the Catholic Church. The College of Cardinals advises the pope as desired.

A Papal conclave is a meeting of the College of Cardinals to elect a new pope. Only the Cardinals who were younger than 80 when the vacancy arose are allowed to vote.
