Code (law)

A code is a systematic collection, compendium, or revision of laws, rules, or regulations. The process of forming and maintaining a code is called codification. In United States federal law, the code of statutes is called the United States Code, and the code of regulations is called the Code of Federal Regulations. The states also have codes.
