A chess hustler is someone who plays chess against any challenger on public tables, typically in Union Square and Washington Square Parks in New York City, and sometimes in other urban locations like Cambridge, Massachusetts. Some of the best chess hustlers make a living off of small bets, while others simply play for enjoyment.
