Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen (born September 23, 1949, in Long Branch, New Jersey[1]) is a very popular American musician.[2][3] He is one of the top selling recording artists of all time.[4] He was nonpolitical until 2004, when he started to bash President Bush; he campaigned for Obama in 2008.[5]
His most famous song "Born in the USA" was for a time considered a patriotic song but a closer look at the lyrics showed that is was actually a Vietnam protest song.
"I had a brother at Khe Sanh
Fighting off the Viet Cong They're still there, he's all gone
He had a woman he loved in Saigon I got a picture of him in her arms now"
Khe Sanh refers to a Vietnam battle that was used by antiwar activists to support the notion that the war was unjust.
